Chris Grundemann speaking on IPv6, and talking BCOP, at HKNOG 1.0

HKNOG LogoI’m really excited to announce that I’ll be speaking at the 1.0 meeting of the Hong Kong Network Operators Group (HKNOG) next week!

The full-day HKNOG 1.0 meeting will be held on Monday, 01 September 2014 in East Hong Kong. This is a free to attend event, so if you are a network engineer based in Hong Kong, or who will be in or near Hong Kong next week, I highly recommend attending! Be sure to register quickly though, as space is limited. Full event details can be found on the HKNOG group page or on their Facebook event page. When you’re ready to register, fill out this form.

With this being the 1.0 edition, and my very first HKNOG meeting, I’m not exactly sure what to expect. However, I do have many friends and respected colleagues involved with the planning and execution of this meeting so I am more than confident it will be an informative and entertaining day. For my part, I’ll be speaking about IPv6 security myths as well as all of the work the DO team is doing, including Deploy360, BCOP, and Operators and the IETF.

In addition to giving my talk, I’m particularly interested in meeting more of the talented engineers and operators from the region, including more folks from the very active Hong Kong chapter of the Internet Society. I always want to help get our resources into new hands and gather new feedback, and this will be my first trip to Hong Kong! I’ll be specifically focused on having conversations about potential Best Current Operational Practice (BCOP) efforts, both in Hong Kong and in the entire Asia Pacific region.

If you’ll be at HKNOG 1.0, or just in Hong Kong early next week please do shoot me an email or a tweet and let’s find time to chat!
