Deploy360: Let's Talk About Us for a While (We're Hiring!)

By Leslie DaigleGuest AuthorChief Technical Officer and Internet Integrity Program Director, Global Cyber Alliance

Internet Society Deploy360 ProgrammeIf you’re reading this, you probably have some awareness of the Deploy360 resource, and hopefully have a good sense of the role it can play in ensuring the Internet continues to evolve technically. If you’ve been paying close attention, you may even know that it’s brought to you by a small team of very skilled, enthusiastic and dedicated staff at the Internet Society. The good news is that, if you have great ideas about where to take this (and other related deployment and operationalization activities of the Internet Society) next, not only do we want to hear them, you might have the opportunity to lead that team!

When Richard Jimmerson joined the Internet Society in 2011 to build what we now know as Deploy360, it was nothing more than (at best!) an architectural blueprint. Richard built that great team and together they proceeded to deliver on an activity that is now widely recognized in the operational community, sought out to house new activities, and is garnering respect and recognition by other key deployment-oriented organizations in the Internet community. That’s a great impact for a small team and just two years!

This is my opportunity to publicly thank Richard for all this hard work and accomplishment — he has let us know that, blueprint realized, he is ready to move on from the Internet Society. I’m sure I’m not the only one who will miss him here, even as I wish him all the best success in his future endeavours.

As for our future endeavours — Deploy360 is only just beginning, and all the deployment activities at the Internet Society continue to march onward. We’ve got a job description up now if you or someone you know might be interested in the position to help us continue to build the Internet Society Deployment & Operationalization team and bring it to the next level.

Rest assured, we’ll continue bringing you the best deployment information we can find on IPv6, DNSSEC, and Routing Resiliency/Security and you can expect continued blog posts, social media activities, and new content on the site as we conduct the search for our next Director. And if you think you, or someone you know, has the right stuff for that role, we’d love to hear from you at the address in job posting.
