The African Union Commission (AUC) together with the support of the Government of Sudan organized the Seventh African Internet Governance Forum (AfIGF 2018) in Khartoum, Sudan under the theme: “Development of the Digital Economy and Emerging Technology in Africa”.

At the Internet Society, we are working for an open, globally-connected, trustworthy, and secure Internet for everyone. We aim to reform decision-making approaches to deliver sound Internet policies that put people’s interests at the center.

As part of this work, the Internet Society Africa Regional Bureau organized two AfIGF-2018 parallel sessions:

  • Session 1: Strengthening the Institutional Capacity of Critical African Internet Institutions
  • Session 2: Creating an Enabling Environment for Community Networks in Africa
