Harald A. Summa is a European Internet pioneer with more than 30 years of experience in Internet infrastructure, digital policy, and industry leadership. He is the founder and former Chief Executive of eco – Association of the Internet Industry and is widely recognized as the former CEO and architect of DE-CIX, one of the world’s leading Internet Exchanges.
Throughout his career, Harald has contributed to the development of key Internet institutions, including Euro-IX and EuroISPA, and has served on numerous national and international bodies focused on Internet governance, cybersecurity, and digital infrastructure.
In addition to his role as Chair of the Internet Society’s Organization Member Advisory Council (OMAC), Harald serves as Chairman of Diplomatic Council Quantum Leap (DCQL), an initiative focused on quantum technologies, cyber resilience, and the future of secure digital networks. His work brings together technology, policy, and international collaboration to support a secure, open, and resilient Internet.
