Building An Internet For Everyone

We recently released Anchoring the African Internet Ecosystem: Lessons from Kenya and Nigeria’s Internet Exchange Points Growth report. It highlights how IXPs play critical role in expanding Internet access and lowering connectivity costs in Africa.

All people are welcome. All skills are needed.

To grow, the Internet needs a strong community behind it. A community where everyone is welcome can lend a hand.

Those who work on this project are continuing work that is core to the Internet Society. We support people who build the Internet.

 We make this happen by:

  • Working in partnership. Through people or organizations, this could not happen without partners.
  • Bringing people together. This could be online, at events, technical workshops, or anywhere where it makes sense.
  • Offering training. You know what works best when it comes to bringing the Internet to your community. We’ll help you hone your skills to do it.
  • Supporting local and regional Internet organizations

You don’t need a technical background to get involved. Everyone can contribute. It could be laying fibre, installing a switch, creating policy, mobilising communities, or advocating for change. People doing what they do best for the good of the Internet is what it is all about.

Together we will build an Internet for everyone.
