MENOG 19 will take place in Beirut, from 31 March – 4 April 2019. The event consists of:

    • Basic IPv6 conducted by the RIPE NCC
      Sunday, March 31, 2019 (Full day training)
    • IPv6 Security conducted by the RIPE NCC
      Monday, April 01, 2019 (Full day training)
    • Measurements and Tools conducted by the RIPE NCC
      Tuesday, April 02, 2019 (Full day training)

Mutually Agreed Norms for Routing Security (MANRS) Workshop

Sunday 31 March and Monday 1 April 2019 (2 days)

This is an intermediate-level technical workshop, consisting of lectures and hands-on lab to enhance Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) skills following current industry best practices. The course uses both IPv4 and IPv6 in a dual-stack infrastructure. Trainer is Aftab A. Siddiqui, our Technical Engagement Manager for Asia-Pacific.

  • Overview of IGP
  • Overview of BGP (Attributes and Path Selection Process)
  • BGP traffic engineering tools (Local Pref, MED, AS path prepend, communities etc)
  • BGP Operations and Security (RFC7454)
  • BCP38 (RFC2827) – Network Ingress Filtering
  • BCP84 (RFC3704) – Ingress Filtering for Multihomed Networks
  • Overview of the Internet Routing Registry (with RIPE NCC Support)
  • Introduction to RPSL
  • Introduction to RPKI (ROA and ROV)
  • LAB (online lab)

Target Audience:
Network Engineers working in small and large enterprise networks, ISPs, NREN and IXPs.

Workshop Requirements:
This is not a beginner-level routing course. Anyone with experience running a network with a reasonable understanding of routing protocols is eligible for this workshop. The online lab has Cisco IOS and Juniper JunOS platform (candidates can choose only one platform).
