MEAC-SIG

The 6th edition of the Middle East and Adjoining Countries School on Internet Governance (MEAC-SIG) took place on 8-12 July 2019 in Rabat, Morocco.

Hosted by The National Telecommunications Regulatory Agency (ANRT) of Morocco, and jointly organised by the Arab World Internet Institute, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), the Internet Governance Project at Georgia Tech, the Internet Society, and RIPE NCC, MEAC-SIG was a unique 5-day intensive programme that aimed at informing and strengthening the regional Internet community and ensuring effective participation in national, regional, and global Internet Governance fora.

Salam Yamout, our Regional Bureau Director for Middle East, participated at the multistakeholder roundtable on Tuesday, 9 July. On Thursday, 11 July, Salam took part at Internet Governance and Economic Development session and spoke about the state of infrastructure development in the Middle East region.
