Our Work

Our Work

Working for a community-driven, trustworthy Internet for everyone.

The Internet is a transformative force. But not everyone benefits from it equally. Around 2 billion people still lack connectivity. And, increasingly, our online safety is threatened by the inability to trust that our personal information is in our control. The stakes have never been higher. That’s why we partner with communities to help people overcome their unique barriers to connectivity, be they geographic, technical, regulatory, or financial.

As part of our 2030 Strategy, we are focusing on addressing two critical global challenges facing the Internet:

  • Lack of trust in the Internet. Because everyone deserves an Internet experience that is safe, secure, and protects them online.
  • Global inequality. Because people everywhere need to have access to affordable, reliable, and resilient Internet.

How We Succeed

How We Succeed

Through our Foundation, we invest in projects that advance our mission. In partnership with our global community, we build and deploy infrastructure, provide decision-makers with data to develop, maintain, and protect the Internet, help shape and advocate for policies that impact how the Internet works, and empower future Internet leaders with the skills and expertise they need to succeed.

Community

Our global community is passionate about developing the Internet’s full potential. Individual, chapter, and organization membership are just a handful of ways to be part of our community.

Advocacy

From convening policy leaders, to informing courts through Amicus Brief filings, our localized and collaborative advocacy work helps lower connectivity barriers and create a safer Internet.

Empowerment

We provide Internet leaders with the expertise they need to make decisions about and for the Internet. We offer individuals and communities trainings to help them connect and be safe online.
