The theme of Community Network Xchange (CNX) 2018 was ‘Role of community networks and community radios in leveraging public wi-fi in Asia Pacific countries’. The 2018 CNX focused on the role that community radios and community networks play in creating public wi-fi spaces in Asia Pacific.
Digital Empowerment Foundation (DEF) and the Internet Society organised the first Community Network Xchange (CNX) in 2017 with support from Association for Progressive Communications (APC) and APNIC. The theme of the first Community Network Xchange (CNX) was ‘Understanding the social & economic sustainability approaches of Community Networks in Asia Pacific’. As the first edition identified synergies between community networks and community radios, CNX 2018 focused on furthering this.
