2018 G7 Summit

The 2018 G7 Summit was hosted by Canada in Charlevoix, Quebec, from 8-9 June 2018. It was the sixth time since 1981 that Canada had hosted the meetings.

At the G7 Summit Canada “showcased both its domestic and international priorities: to strengthen the middle class, advance gender equity, fight climate change, and promote respect for diversity and inclusion.”

On 6 June 2018, the Internet Society organized the 2018 G7 Summit side event, Innovation, security, and the Internet of Things.

Listen to Mark Buell, North American Bureau Director, explain why a secure and open Internet is important, what we expect from G7 leaders, and what to expect from the expert panel discussion on the topic (audio, 6 minutes)
