Chief of Staff

Biography

I serve as the Chief of Staff to the President and CEO of the Internet Society and the Internet Society Foundation, serving as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the CEO in leading both organizations to build and protect an Internet for everyone. I am passionate about leveraging technology to expand connectivity and opportunity, bringing together cross-sector partners to foster open, secure, and trusted digital ecosystems around the world.

I joined the Internet Society in 2026 after more than a decade in the U.S. government. From 2020 to 2025, I served as Senior Technology Policy Officer at the U.S. Department of State, where I advanced Internet freedom and responsible AI governance initiatives and built coalitions across governments, industry, the technical community, and civil society to translate complex digital challenges into practical solutions for people and communities worldwide.

From 2016 to 2020, I held foreign policy roles focused on sanctions and export controls, multilateral diplomacy, and Iranian affairs. From 2013 to 2015, I served as a Paralegal Specialist in the Antitrust Division at the U.S. Department of Justice, supporting investigations into anticompetitive conduct, mergers, and acquisitions.

I hold an M.A. in international economics and international relations from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), with specializations in economic policy, emerging markets, international political
economy, and the Middle East. I earned my B.A. in foreign affairs from the University of Virginia.

Outside of work, I love to explore cultural and international events across the Washington, D.C. area. I am learning Latin ballroom dancing and often unwind from the day with a good TV series.
