The West Africa Internet Governance Forum was officially opened yesterday by the Madame Sani Hadiza Koubra Abdoulaye, Niger’s Minister of Information. Under the theme “Implementing a Multi-Stakeholder Model for the Development of the Internet in West Africa” the forum is running for two days discussing issues like the digital divide, online safety, infrastructure and more.
In line with the support we give to the African IGFs, the Internet Society is participating to the Forum and made a presentation on “The role of IXPs in bridging the Digital Divide”.
