I am the Engagement Manager at the Internet Society, with particular focus on organization membership engagement, benefits delivery, and retention.
Prior to my current position, I worked for the Internet Society from December 2013 to February 2020, first as the African Internet Exchange System (AXIS) Project Coordinator and then as the Regional Communication Coordinator for Africa.
Before joining the Internet Society, I served as the head of the communication department for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Delegation to the African Union (AU) and worked as a project coordinator under the Protection of Basic Service/Social Accountability Program managed by GTZ-IS and Center of Development Consulting (CDC). I gained further experience through my work with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Parliament Capacity Building Project and the African Network for the Prevention and Protection against Child Abuse and Neglect (ANPPCAN).
I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Addis Ababa University (AAU) and a Master of Arts Degree in Sociology from Indra Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). I have an excellent command of written and spoken English, French, and Amharic languages.
In my free time, I enjoy swimming and listening to music.
