Chapters Election
Statement regarding your availability to devote appropriate time to board service:
Being in an Academic & Research Organisation, I am confident, I would be able to devote appropriate time to Board Service both directly when required and indirectly everyday as part of my regular engagements
Statement regarding the kind of contribution you would like to make to the board:
As an Internet Society Board of Trustees, I intend to use my technical depth, community-interest orientation, and institutional governance experience, to promote an open, secure, and inclusive Internet.
Balancing the dynamic developments in technology with a barrier free policy would be my contribution. With extensive experience in Internet infrastructure, cybersecurity, DNS & Registry systems, and emerging technologies, I would help the Board assess strategic risks and opportunities arising from rapid technological change—particularly where innovation intersects with Internet openness, trust, and human rights. The goal would be to ensure that ISOC’s positions remain technically sound, globally relevant, and grounded in real-world operational realities.
My present association of heading the Internet & Communication Technologies in an multi-governmental academic institution serving the Global South would help in appreciating & advocating for capacity building, community networks, and skills development in under-represented regions. I believe strengthening local technical communities and research-driven policymaking is essential to narrowing digital divides and sustaining the Internet as a global public resource.
From a governance standpoint, my experience in Government heading many units has given me the ability for strategic oversight, financial stewardship, and accountability, supporting transparent decision-making and long-term sustainability. I believe in collaborative leadership and multi stakeholder model and intends to positively engage with fellow Trustees, Chapters, and staff to ensure alignment between strategy, programs, and measurable impact.
Finally, I intend to act as an ambassador for ISOC, promoting it across academic, technical, and policy forums, and helping translate complex Internet issues into clear, actionable insights for diverse stakeholders.
In essence, my contribution would be to help ISOC anticipate the future of the Internet while remaining firmly anchored in its founding principles of openness, security, and user empowerment.
Declaration of potential conflicts of interest:
I do not have any potential conflict of Interest, and if any arise, I will ensure, I relinquish such positions to erase any conflict of interest arising thereoff.
