Callum joined the Internet Society in July 2021 and serves as the European Government Affairs and Advocacy Manager.
Prior to joining the Internet Society, Callum worked as a Senior Policy Advisor in the UK Civil Service where he was team lead on internet safety negotiations under the UK’s G7 presidency. As a UK civil servant, he additionally conducted research and produced policy recommendations on digital currencies, mobile payments, and government engagement with international big tech.
Earlier in his career, Callum spent five years working for the non-profit media organization Project Syndicate where he negotiated grants and media partnerships with leading publications in 55 countries in Africa, Asia, and Europe. These experiences have shaped Callum’s passion for the intersections of technology, freedom of speech, and media sustainability.
Callum holds a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from the University of Oxford as well as Bachelor degrees in International Politics and East Asian Studies from New York University. Callum speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese as well as intermediate Czech and Russian.
Callum is based in Prague, Czech Republic.
