Matthew Johnson is a graduate student at the University of Washington working with Dr. Kurtis Heimerl on new tools and deployment models for community cellular networks. He has helped build community-scale networks in the Philippines, Indonesia, and the United States. Previously he has interned for X (formerly Google-X) working on balloon-based rural access, and majored in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Rice University in Houston, Texas.
Outside of networking, he is excited and passionate about sustainable living, bikes, and photography.
