More than 2.6 billion people around the world remain unconnected to the Internet. Those who are still offline—such as Indigenous peoples, women, and displaced populations—face multiple and intersecting barriers that make access even more difficult. To reach them we need better policies that recognize local challenges and support sustainable solutions.
The Connectivity Policies Workshop offers a space to explore tools, standards, and strategies that can guide the development of community-centered connectivity policies. Through practical sessions, presentations, and collaborative exercises, participants will examine real-world experiences, current recommendations, and approaches that help expand meaningful access where it is needed most.
This workshop brings together policymakers, technical stakeholders, and strategic partners to share tools, strategies, and experiences that support the development of inclusive connectivity policies.
This workshop will be held the day before the start of the CITEL Permanent Consultative Committee I (PCCI) meeting and will focus on community-centered models for reaching people with no or little connectivity.
