Le 16 Février 2013 à Ngaoundéré, les membres de l’Internet Society Cameroon Chapter ont rejoint la grande communauté Barcamp Cameroon pour la deuxième édition régionalisée du Barcamp Cameroon baptisée « NdéréCamp 2013 [1] ». Le thème principal de l’événement était : « ICT for Decentralized Communities. » ou « Les TICs au service des Communautés Territoriales Décentralisés. »
KhmerOS (Khmer Software Initiative) is a project directed to creating and distributing free basic finaluser software in Khmer (Cambodian) language, so that users will not have to learn a foreign language in order to acquire computer skills and access information through the Internet.
In the reporting period June-October 2005 the group of ISOC Chapters ( Poland, Republic of Georgia, Puerto Rico, Slovenia, Chicago, Washington DC, Texas and ECC) in cooperation with Central and Eastern European Networking Association (CEENet) have been working on the Phase I of the project realization. After initial discussions and task distribution our team has created the underlying database structure, with fully functional Web interface.
How does your Chapter let the world know about the great work it is doing? How does your Chapter communicate and with which resources?
In February The Internet Society Romania chapter brought together over 80 participants from 50 different organizations to discuss the implications of the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Act (ACTA), at their event ACTA: Between Anonymous Threats and Government Control.
Internet Society's Romanian Capter organized the workshop "What kind of Internet do you want", to approach education, access and network neutrality, three major cornerstones for the evolution of Internet in Romania. The workshop has benefitted from large and engaged participation from Romanian government, businesses and civil society.
The participants discussed the importance of Internet for education, its capacity to act as an enabler for human rights and social development and the importance of preserving an open and neutral Internet.
