Internet Hall of Fame

This year, the Internet Society turns 20. To mark this milestone, and to highlight the Internet’s profound impact on our world, the Internet Society is establishing an Internet Hall of Fame that will identify, recognize, and celebrate individuals who have fuelled the development of the Internet and used it to transform the lives of people throughout the world.

The Internet Society is inviting its Chapters, Organisation Members and Individual Members, as well as Internet enthusiasts to participate by submitting applications for nominee candidates.

An esteemed Advisory Board will select the Internet Hall of Fame’s 2012 inductees. The Advisory Board will be made up of individuals with expertise spanning all segments of the industry and related areas, including computer scientists, software engineers, Internet developers, historians, executives, venture capitalists, authors, researchers, futurists, academics, analysts, and journalists.

The inaugural inductees will be announced at the Internet Hall of Fame Awards Gala event at the Internet Society’s Global INET 2012 meeting in Geneva, Switzerland, 22-24 April 2012.

The Internet Hall of Fame awards will be an annual event.
