Working for a community-driven, trustworthy Internet for everyone.
The Internet is a transformative force. But not everyone benefits from it equally. Around 2 billion people still lack connectivity. And, increasingly, our online safety is threatened by the inability to trust that our personal information is in our control. The stakes have never been higher. That’s why we partner with communities to help people overcome their unique barriers to connectivity, be they geographic, technical, regulatory, or financial.
As part of our 2030 Strategy, we are focusing on addressing two critical global challenges facing the Internet:
- Lack of trust in the Internet. Because everyone deserves an Internet experience that is safe, secure, and protects them online.
- Global inequality. Because people everywhere need to have access to affordable, reliable, and resilient Internet.

How We Succeed
Through our Foundation, we invest in projects that advance our mission. In partnership with our global community, we build and deploy infrastructure, provide decision-makers with data to develop, maintain, and protect the Internet, help shape and advocate for policies that impact how the Internet works, and empower future Internet leaders with the skills and expertise they need to succeed.
