Biographie

At the Internet Society, I am the Senior Vice President for Projects. In this role, I have three areas of responsibility. First, I provide strategic leadership for the Internet Society's entire portfolio of projects. Second, I am responsible to ensure that our projects are staffed with high performing experts who make the projects successful. Finally, as part of the Senior Management Team, I help ensure that the Internet Society remains at the cutting edge, ready and able to take on new challenges and opportunities that emerge in the Internet environment.

I've been at the Internet Society since 2009, where much of my work has focused on global Internet policy, advocating for public policies that support and enable a globally connected Internet for everyone. Prior to joining the Internet Society, I was the Assistant Director for Telecommunications and Information Policy in the Office of Science and Technology Policy at the White House from 2007-2009. There, I was responsible for government-wide coordination and implementation of policies related to Internet governance; cybersecurity; telecommunications policy; digital television transition; intellectual property and patent reform; privacy; broadband deployment; spectrum auctions; and other information technology policies. Prior to that, I was a Senior Advisor on Internet Policy for the U.S. Department of State. In that role, I Represented the United States in dozens of international negotiations and dialogues on a wide range of foreign policy and technology issues. I earned an MA in International Political Economy from Claremont Graduate University and a BA in Political Science from Westmont College.

I was born and raised in beautiful northern California where I developed a life long love for the beach, the mountains, and just being in the outdoors. As an active mom of two small children, my best days are those spent outdoors with my family. Through my career at the State Department and the Internet Society, I discovered a love for travel and experiencing new cultures that I hope to pass along to my children.
