Biografía

Natalie joined the Internet Society as Director of Public Advocacy and Community Organizing with over 15 years’ experience developing successful strategies to change policies, grow organizational membership and build movements for change.

Prior to joining Internet Society, Natalie Campbell was founder/senior consultant at Campbell Communications, a strategic communications consultancy specializing in advocacy, political campaigns and community mobilization for local, national and global corporate and non-profit clients since 2015. Through this and various governance roles, including serving as trustee for the Northwest Territories’ French-language school board, she has worked with senior leaders to leverage thought leadership opportunities, provided strategic counsel to elected officials, and led several successful political and advocacy campaigns.

Prior to founding Campbell Communications, Natalie led member recruitment strategies and corporate communications campaigns at the Canadian Internet Registration Authority, the registry for the .CA country code top-level domain. She has also worked alongside Indigenous communities, from developing national health campaigns at the National Aboriginal Health Organization to supporting the growing movement of Indigenous innovators through the Internet Society’s Indigenous Connectivity Summit.

Natalie’s background is rooted in journalism with experience in various editorial roles. She is formerly the managing editor of the Canadian Journal of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and a former sports editor at News/North. As a writer her work has appeared in Canadian Medical Association Journal, Ottawa Citizen, Ottawa Sun, Global Coffee Report, and Up Here Magazine.
