Mat Ford joined the Internet Society in September 2008. As Technology Program Manager he organizes and leads aspects of the Internet Society's work in advancing the development and deployment of open standards and promoting the Internet's collaborative development and operational management model.
Mat works closely with the Internet Research Task Force (IRTF) to promote greater collaboration between the networking research community and the IRTF.
Mat's background includes development of network security designs, research and development in IP mobility and IPv6, as well as developing platforms to demonstrate research results. Mat led collaborative research projects and chaired the cluster of IPv6 research projects supported by the European Commission. Prior to joining the Internet Society, Mat was Principal Researcher at BT's Networks Research Centre.
Mat is based near Edinburgh, Scotland.
