Tamrat Bayle (Ethiopia)

Tamrat Bayle is an Assistant Professor of Information Engineering, and has been serving dual roles as Dean of the College of Telecommunications & Information Technology of Ethio Telecom, and as Head of the Department of Information Technology at the same institution. He has taught several graduate-level courses mainly in advanced computer networks, mobile ad hoc networking, wireless and mobile IP networks, high-speed communication systems, special topics in ICT, and others. Tamrat’s research areas are next generation IP-based network architectures and services, as well as mobile/wireless networks, including Internet QoS architecture and mechanisms, IPv6 and MPLS QoS/traffic engineering. He is a Returning Fellow, having previously been selected for IETF 72.

 

Nabil Benamar (Morocco)

Nabil Benamar is an Associate Professor of Computer Science in the University of Moulay Ismail in Meknes, Morocco. He is also a Trainer on Cisco platforms, IPv6 and Linux. His main topic of research is Delay Tolerant Networks (DTN), and he is looking forward to interacting and discussing his ideas with the members of the DTN working group in the IETF. Nabil is an ISOC Next Generation Leader and IGF Ambassadors alumni. He is also a Returning Fellow to the IETF, having been previously selected for IETF 89. He is actively involved with MENOG, AFRINIC, and the Saudi Arabia IPv6 Task Force.

 

Rao Naveed Bin Rais (Pakistan)

Rao Naveed Bin Rais is an Assistant Professor in the Electronic Engineering Department at M.A. Jinnah University in Islamabad. His research interests include protocol design and development, communication mechanisms for delay/disruption tolerant networks, caching and routing mechanisms for content-centric networking, and Internet naming and addressing issues. He is also exploring new research areas such as Software-Defined Networks (SDN). He completed a Ph.D. in Networks and Distributed Systems from INRIA/University of Nice. He is an ICANN Fellowship awardee. He is very excited about learning more about the activities of the HIP, MANET, LISP, and MPTCP working groups at the IETF.

 

Lucas Bondan (Brazil)

Lucas Bondan is a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at the Institute of Informatics of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Brazil. His current research topic is on Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) and Software-Defined Networks (SDN). His passion is technology-based research, and he is constantly acquiring knowledge to improve his subject matter expertise and bring innovation to his country. He is looking to better understand the workings of the IETF, build relationships, and develop partnerships for future work that can drive greater network deployment in emerging economies such as Brazil.

 

Weverton Cordeiro (Brazil)

Weverton Cordeiro is presently engaged at the Federal Institute of Para @ Itaituba in Brazil as an Associate Professor. His research is focused on the design of an extension to the OLSR (Optimized Link State Routing) protocol to improve quality of service for multimedia, real-time data traffic. He has also been collaborating on the deployment of a wireless mesh network for delivering Internet access to communities surrounding the university campus. He has published research papers on conferences such as IEEE, IFIP, ACM, and USENIX. He is particularly interested in the work of the MANET, DTN, IPPM, and OLSR working groups at the IETF.

 

Washington Garcia (Ecuador)

Washington Garcia is a Professor of Computer Science in the Faculty of Engineering at the Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manab in Ecuador. At the university, he is a member of the Research Committee and also is the Head of the Formative Research Group that is focused on teaching young leaders the core concepts of technological innovation. Washington is interested in learning more about the open standards development process at the IETF, and seeing how he can teach and lead IETF-related communities of practice back in his own country.

 

Suprita Lnu (India)

Suprita Lnu is currently employed as a Network Planning and Design Engineer at Reliance JIO Infocomm Limited in India. She is part of a team working towards launching 4G mobile services across India. In this role, she is working on deploying MPLS for LTE backhaul and FTTx services, deploying OSS tools and automation, and providing first-hand analysis on IPoDWDM, NFV, and SDN. Suprita is passionate about delivering next generation networks (NGNs) and services that contribute to wide scale development in her country. She is interested in the BGP, ISIS, OSPF, and MPLS working groups.

 

Gonzalo Lujan (Bolivia)

Gonzalo Lujan is the Chief Technology Officer at Comteco-Boliviatel. He holds a BSc. in Systems and Chemical Engineering and a MSc. in Productivity and Quality. He also holds the Cisco Certified Network Associate qualification. Over the last 17 years, he has worked in the telecoms sector, specifically in the areas of deploying converged service platforms. He is very interested in learning more about the IETF, building key relationships, and learning about best practices in terms of deploying BGP and building an IPv6 roadmap.

 

Abubakar Aminu Muazu (Nigeria)

Abubakar Aminu Muazu is a Ph.D. student at the Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS in Malaysia. He also works as a Lecturer at the Umaru Musa Yar'adua University in Nigeria. Abubakar has a strong interest in cybersecurity, but his currently work is in the area of Intelligent Transport System (ITS) in the vehicular networking domain. He holds a BSc. in Computer Science from the Usmanu Danfodiyo University of Sokoto and a MSc. from the Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS. Abubakar is passionate about building a community of practice (COP) for open standards development in Nigeria, and expects to build relationships through this fellowship that assists him in achieving this goal. His IETF interests lie with the MANET, 2VPN, NETCONF, and MPTCP working groups.

 

Sheneel Naz (Pakistan)

Sheneel Naz is currently a Ph.D. student at the M.A. Jinnah University in Islamabad, Pakistan. Her research interest is in the area of content-centric networks. She is also currently participating on a research and development project pertaining to “Design and Development of Hybrid IPv4 & IPv6 Network for QoS Enabled Video Streaming Multicast Application”. She is subscribed to the ICNRG and DCCP working groups at the IETF. Sheneela is a Returning Fellow, and has previously been selected for IETF 85.

 

Paola Pérez (Venezuela)

Paola Pérez is studying Computer Systems Engineering at the University of Los Andes in Merida, Venezuela. She is passionate about computer networks, and is currently on architecture design for a wireless network project in the city of Merida. Paola is also involved in another project where she is focused on TV white spaces in my city as a technology for delivering affordable Internet access to underdeveloped communities. She is presently working on her Cisco networking certification, and is very interested in the IANA transition planning. She is subscribed to the 6LO, WEBSEC, and IANAPLAN working groups in the IETF.

 

Oleksandr Tsaruk (Ukraine)

Oleksandr Tsaruk is the Chief Adviser to Committee on Informatization and Informational Technologies at the Parliament of the Ukraine. He performs policy analysis and legislation improvement with regards to Internet governance, e-commerce, e-communications and information and communication technologies for development. He was recently selected as the Ukraine Representative to the ICANN GAC. He is also a Council Member on IDN ccTLD .???, and sits on the Cyrillic IDN panel at ICANN. He is currently following the DNSOP, SCIM, LMAP, and WEBSEC working groups at the IETF.

  

Osama Tamimi (Palestine)

Osama Tamimi is currently employed as an IP Core Network Engineer at Wataniya Mobile Palestine Telecommunications. He is responsible for operations, administration, and maintenance (OAM) activities on the IP/MPLS network and Internet gateways. Osama completed his Bachelors of Science in Computer Engineering at the Jordan University of Science and Technology, and currently holds certifications on Juniper, Cisco and Microsoft platforms. He is a member of the IEEE, a former ICANN Fellow, and is currently working on completing the Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) qualification. Osama is passionate about IP networks, and has strong interest in the IS-IS, MPLS, and L3VPN working groups in the IETF.

  

Mukom Akong Tamon (Cameroon)

Mukom Akong Tamon is the Training Manager for the African Network Information Center (AFRINIC). He has built and currently administers AFRINIC's training program (curriculum, course content, key processes for delivery, and monitoring and evaluation). His goal is to provide the highest quality training on Internet Protocol (IP) technologies and related policy to engineers, managers and policy makers in Africa. He was crucial in the creation of the IPv6 Forum Certified Program for systems administrators. He is very interested in enhancing his participation in the IETF and serving as a mentor and advocate for open standards development in Africa.
