ION Belfast LogoAre you ready for ION Belfast next month, on 8-9 September? We’ll have tons of IPv6, DNSSEC, and Routing Security information for you alongside all the other networking goodness with our co-location partner UKNOF. (Read our last post on the event for more details.)

But, wait! There’s more!

UKNOF 29 Call for Presentations

You already know we’re co-locating ION Belfast with UKNOF 29. But did you also know that the UKNOF 29 Call for Presentations is still open? If you’d like to participate in that event as a speaker, you have until 14 August (that’s this Friday!) to submit a talk.

From the UKNOF 29 Call for Presentations page:

Talks are usually around 30 minutes in length, and common subject areas are:

  • Network operations
  • Network architecture and design
  • Networking hardware and software architecture
  • Peering and interconnect
  • Data centre design and operations
  • IPv6 deployment
  • Network monitoring and measurement
  • New innovations in networking technology
  • Open protocol standards
  • Domain Name System infrastructure
  • Network security and abuse prevention
  • Impact of public policy of network operations
  • Confessions
  • Stories from the field

But, we’re always on the lookout for something different, so don’t feel it has to fall into the areas above. We’re also interested in hearing proposals for panel discussions, as these are a great way of presenting and discussing different views on the same subject.

RIPE NCC IPv6 Training Courses

And if that’s not enough, RIPE NCC is offering two training courses for their members. After UKNOF 29 and ION Belfast, in the same venue, RIPE NCC is organizing a one-day “Basic IPv6” course and a two-day “Advanced IPv6” course. The Basic IPv6 course is on Wednesday, 10 September, and the Advanced IPv6 course will be on Thursday and Friday, 11-12 September. RIPE NCC members can sign up for these events at https://lirportal.ripe.net/training/courses.

ION Belfast Webcast & Social Media Reminders

If you can’t be in Belfast, remember that UKNOF and ION will be webcast so check these pages for more information as we work out the details. After the event, check the ION Belfast page to find the presentations and other highlights.

If you will be there, please let us know by joining the Facebook event or Google+ event, talking to us on FacebookTwitter, or Google+ (using the hashtag #IONConf), or emailing us.

Don’t forget to REGISTER for ION and UKNOF 29!
