Biography

Dr Ronda Železný-Green joined the Internet Society as the Global Head for Training and e-Learning in January 2020. She is a mobile technologist, educator, and researcher whose professional experience spans the public, private, and civil society sectors. She specializes in innovation and educational technology (especially mobile learning), gender, training, and government policy advice. She has provided mixed methods insight and analysis as well as project implementation leadership for a wide range of stakeholders including schools, mobile network operators, governments, multilateral organizations, and international NGOs.

Dr Železný-Green previously worked at the GSMA, where she served as the Director for Policy & Regulation Training Delivery, delivering courses online and face-to-face for government employees in more than 150 countries. She began her career in technology a decade ago as a Research Analyst with Pyramid Research. Prior to that, she worked in education at all levels in the US, South Korea, Equatorial Guinea, and Madagascar, where she served in the United States Peace Corps.

A U.S. Fulbright Scholar to Kenya (2013-2014), Ronda holds a PhD in Human Geography and a Master of Science in Practicing Sustainable Development (ICT4D specialism) from Royal Holloway, University of London, a Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics and a Graduate Certificate in Instructional and Technology Design from the University of Massachusetts-Boston, and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Spanish (honors) with a minor in Non-Profit Management from Salem College.

She is currently based in London, UK.
