Biography

Sandy began her Internet Society career in October of 2010 as Director of Finance and then moved to the Chief Financial Officer role in October of 2016. She was the CFO and Senior Vice President of Business Operations until her unfortunate passing in September 2021.

Sandy brought over 30 years of vast finance and accounting experience in the nonprofit and media/entertainment industries.

Prior to joining Internet Society, Sandy was the Assistant Controller for the Public Broadcasting Service in Arlington, Virginia, where she oversaw all financial reporting, tax filings, grant reporting, payroll, and accounting processes. Prior to PBS, Sandy held several previous financial management positions in Los Angeles, California, including Controller of The Jim Henson Company, home of the Muppets and Sesame Street characters, and Executive Director of Corporate Reporting at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc., home of the James Bond movies. She also worked as Controller of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical production company based in London and Time Warner Publishing in New York City.

Sandy held a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Binghamton University in Binghamton, New York. She earned her license as a Certified Public Accountant in the state of New York and was licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia
