I serve as Counsel at the Internet Society. As part of the Legal and Compliance team, I work with our General Counsel to advise the Internet Society on how to best further our mission in a legally compliant way and implement our organizational strategy while managing risk.
I have experience representing nonprofit organizations in tax-related and other corporate matters. Prior to joining Internet Society, I was an associate at Vinson & Elkins LLP in Washington, DC, where I advised public and private companies in transactional tax matters. As part of my pro bono work, I have represented and continue to represent asylum seekers in immigration proceedings.

I have a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law and an M.S. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Houston. I am currently based in Washington, DC.

I am of Palestinian descent and was born and raised in Texas. In my spare time, I enjoy camping with my family, playing tennis, and following the Houston Rockets.
