Anita Walker is the Director, Partners and Members Engagement for the Internet Society. She is responsible for providing leadership, management and support of ISOC’s membership, including the development of organizational goals into holistic outreach and engagement tactics, initiatives and programs.

She has over 20 years of experience in non-profit management, encompassing technology, membership, development, sponsorships, branding, chapter support and legislative advocacy.

She began her career working with two non-profit organizations representing the U.S. automotive industry, measuring economic trade data on foreign imports, and later working with legislators on automotive parts regulations. She moved on to work at the American Association of Publishers (AAP) where she concentrated her efforts on piracy, intellectual property rights and new technologies.

At the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), Anita was the Director of Industry Partnerships and Business Development. In that capacity, she managed the corporate members of the Society, in addition to working with organizations to develop and execute effective sponsorship campaigns. She later became the Director of Membership and Chapter Services, overseeing the Society’s 20,000 professional members and 50 chapters. In that position, Anita worked directly with the Board to implement new professional member qualifications, to restructure the Society’s chapter system, and to develop and implement organizational customer service and rebranding initiatives.

Anita graduated from Marymount University with a degree in Economics.

She is based in the Reston office.
