The Internet Society today announced the 20 skilled technologists from 13 developing countries selected to receive sponsorship to attend the next two Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) meetings. Ten Fellows will attend next week’s IETF meeting in Prague, Czech Republic while the remaining Fellows will join participants at the meeting to be held in Quebec City, Canada in July.

Since 00:00 UTC on 4th March Libya has been offline. This latest blackout follows some periods of overnight shutdown on 19 and 20 February. This is the most recent example of governments withdrawing Internet access from their populations (we’ve recently seen Egypt undertake similar steps).
