The Nigerian Chapter of the Internet Society has started a community on Facebook! They'll be posting information about their Chapter where you can find news and information about the local Chapter and take part in many of the great conversations about the Internet in Nigeria.
Nigerian Chapter Builds Website for Local Secondary School
As part of the ICT-For-All initiative that is on-going in the Nigerian Chapter of the Internet Society, created a website for the Community Secondary School (Junior Secondary School) Rumuomasi, Obio/Akpo, Rivers State.
Students at Two School Take Part in Workshops
The chapter had a interactive workshop on Information & Communications Technology (ICT), at Teelon International Schools, Onne, Rivers State. The pupils and students of the school actively participated in an interactive session. The proprietress of Teelon International Schools, Mrs. George,expressed her delight with the sensitization workshop and explained that the school recognizes the importance of ICT and have already started introducing the children to the world of computer applications.
The Chapter carried out an ICT awareness talk at the Community Primary School Rumuchorlu, when the Rumuchorlu Youths for Positive Health organized an interactive forum among schools in the Rumuchorlu/Rumukurushi Community.
Exploring Internet in Rural Areas
The Chapter has started to work closely with Nigerian Society of Engineers and Institute of Electrical and Electronic engineers (IEEE) Nigerian Section for the development of Internet in Rural Area.
