IPv6 In Action - Website & Pamphlet Launched

The "IPv6 In Action" Project aims to help the general public and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to better understand the IPv4 address space exhaustion situation and to raise their awareness of IPv6. Sponsored by The Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO), the project is organised by the Internet Society Hong Kong and supported by a number of Co-operating Partners and Supporting Organisations.

World Internet Developer's Summit 2012

The first World Internet Developers' Summit ended on March 6-7, 2012 with great success in Hong Kong.  Over 500 participants joined the two-day summit. The cross-platform conference and workshop was hosted by Internet Society Hong Kong, Cyberport and Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks. Developers collaborated from Hong Kong and different countries around the region with great conversation sparked after the presentations and workshops.  
 

Presentations included:

  • Behind the scenes of Cut The Rope in HTML5 and Building HTML5 Metro style apps on Windows 8,Giorgio Sardo (Microsoft)
  • PhoneGap - 12 things you should know, Mark Dong (Adobe)

  • Apps on HTML5 - Why, how, and beyond, Tim Chiem (Mozilla)
  • Angry Birds on Facebook, Henri Holm (Rovio Asia)
  • Build your web apps with YUI and YQL, Marcus Chan (Yahoo!)
  • Web for All, Elke Mak (OGCIO, HKSAR Government)

Workshop included:

  • How to build a multiplay HTML5 game, Thomas Mak (ISOC HK)
  • Hands-on YUI, Chien-Hung Chen (Yahoo!)
  • Take your Web App Offline, Tim Chien (Mozilla)
