The Internet Society Portugal Chapter organized the “Portuguese IGF” on July 10, in Lisbon. The event was co-organized with FCT (Foundation for Science and Technology of the Ministry of Education and Science) and received an important support from the ISOC Europe Bureau.
The event was organized around four topics: Intellectual Property in the Digital World, Privacy Security and Cybercrime, Social Networks and Internet Governance. After the opening session Fréderic Donck made a presentation of the 20 th Anniversary of The Internet Society, and Fréderic also participated in the panel on Internet Governance. The event was sponsored by Google, OPTIMUS (mobile operator) and REFER (telecom operator).
Around 130 registered participants attended the event and also several participants followed the event remotely using a specific presence in Facebook and Twitter. We had the help of three volunteers, members of our local Chapter.
