Chapter Update: Spain November 2010

Contributed by: Carlos Fragoso

On November 11th, the Internet Society Spanish Chapter participated in the 6th Spanish Network Operators Group (ESNOG) event in Madrid. A brief description of the organisational and local Chapter goals and activities was presented to a motivated audience of Spanish internet service providers, hosting/collocation companies, network hardware vendors, amongst others. Topics covered during the event included; IPv6 deployment, Incident Response on Cloud Computing environments and passive DNS security information exchange.

The ESNOG community is an open forum of highly-skilled professionals, many of whom are involved in several relevant working groups managed by the IETF and RIPE. Some attendees were interested in receiving more detailed information about the Internet Society’s regular activities and were willing to join our successful Internet Society Spanish Chapter bi-monthly “expert meetings” which we broadcast in realtime from our eight official chapter supporting sites. We look forward to seeing you there!
